Ek Albeli Shaam (एक अलबेली शाम)

This poem has been co-written by a friend. A poem very personal and close to he heart. It describes a paradise that can only be imagined. The poem is set in the time of twilight, far away from busy life. This is my first attempt at writing in Hindi. The poem here has been written in both देवनागरी and Roman script. An English translation of the poem called “At the Riverside” (http://wp.me/p2SUSz-3p) has also been made.

Ye jo gehre sannate hai
ye sunai dene lage hai
ye jo haden hai
ye kuch sharmaye se lag rahe hai

dariya jo tha din me jhagadta
ab vo bhi aaram kar raha hai
raat ke sukoon mei hai ye magan
lekin ab ye bhi kuch keh raha hai

ye jo lamha hai
ye bus zara sa kyun hai?

ye sama tham jaye
ki bus yahi hai guzaarish
in hawao ko hothon se lagane
ki hai ek choti si khwahish.

raat yu hi khatm ho jayegi
lamhe yuhi beet jayenge
na jaane woh din phir kab aayenge
jab aap aur hum yuhi gungunayenge…
